Their participation will aid in raising funds for Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Georgian Bay General Hospital and Barrie Colts Community Fund

“Athanasiou is a great player who showed off his incredible speed and scoring when he played for the Colts and Suzuki is a young exceptional talent that will be a future favourite here in Simcoe County.” HNISC founder Patrick Brown said.

Meet the Future NHL Star and Rising NHL Future Star

Andreas Athanasiou – a former Colt and current Detroit Red Wing who was drafted 110th overall in 2012. In the 2013/2014 season, Athanasiou led the Colts in scoring with 95 points in 66 games. This past season, having only played in 64 NHL games for the Red Wings, Athanasiou tallied the second highest number of goals on the team. This young NHLer is a complete combination of size, speed, and scoring and will be exciting to watch in this year’s Hockey Night.

Ryan Suzuki – August 10th will the first chance that Colts fans get to see their new young star in action. In April, the Barrie Colts selected this 16-year-old 1st overall in the 2017 OHL Entry Draft. This accomplishment makes him the recipient of the Jack Ferguson award. Previous winners of this award include Connor McDavid, Aaron Ekblad, Steven Stamkos, John Tavares, and fellow Hockey Night player, Daniel Tkaczuk. We are excited to see what he brings to the BMC for the first time this August.

We invite you to join us on August 10th at the Barrie Molson Centre. Doors open at 5:30, player warm up at 6 pm and puck drops at 7pm. Proceeds from this year’s game will be benefitting the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH), Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland (GBGH), and the Barrie Colts Foundation.
